Free wind mitigation inspection
Eligible homeowners receive a no-cost inspection that identifies improvements (impact windows, doors, roof attachments, opening protection) that would reduce hurricane risk. The inspection report is yours to keep regardless of whether you apply for the grant.
Matching grant
If you're approved, the program may match a portion of the cost of qualifying upgrades. Funding is limited and program rules change yearly — check the current MSFH program page for the latest eligibility, caps, and application status.
How to apply
- Apply online through the official My Safe Florida Home portal
- Schedule your free wind mitigation inspection
- Receive your inspection report with recommended upgrades
- Submit grant application with selected upgrades and contractor estimates
- Once approved, complete the upgrade with a licensed contractor
