Exactly how this works

There is no secret model here. Impact window replacement across South Florida generally runs between about $650 and $1,600 per standard opening installed, which is where the whole-home figure of roughly $12,000 to $45,000 comes from. Those are the same published ranges as our cost guide, current as of August 2026.

Openings that are not standard windows are counted at a factor against one, because they are not one window's worth of glass, frame, hardware or labour. These are size and complexity ratios, not prices:

What this deliberately does not do

It does not estimate your insurance saving. The wind mitigation credit depends on your carrier, your roof, your address and your whole building envelope, and anyone quoting a percentage before an inspector has completed the OIR-B1-1802 form is guessing. We say that on every city page on this site, so we are not going to build a tool that pretends otherwise. What we will do is explain exactly how the credit is calculated and what triggers it.

It also carries no permit fees. Those vary by municipality and by the valuation of the work, and a wrong number on a page like this is worse than no number.

What moves your number inside the range

  • Where the house isAn oceanfront elevation is calculated to a far higher design pressure than the same window three miles inland, and the product has to match it.
  • Which countyMiami-Dade and Broward sit inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone and need a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance. Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie work to statewide Florida Product Approval, which is a wider and generally cheaper approved range.
  • Whether the openings are standardOlder South Florida stock is full of non-standard rough openings. Custom sizes cost more than stock, and forcing a stock unit into an opening it does not fit is how installations fail inspection.
  • What comes outRemoving original aluminium from a masonry opening is a different job from taking out a previous replacement, and stucco patching afterwards is part of the price.
